Primarily a payroll card, Wisely was created in 2018. Early direct deposit was identified as an important benefit already offered by most competitors. Wisely’s competition leveraged early direct deposit benefits giving them the opportunity to steal market share.
Marketing Challenge
Wisely is a relatively new brand. Crafting the messaging around a “me-too” product with the perception of a complicated activation process created a delicate messaging balance.

It was important to not let the creative overpower the benefit. Additionally, we saw an opportunity to minimize cardholder friction with: “I got paid 2 days early and it only took 5 minutes!”
